Blue Swing Heaven

We had the trees trimmed today and apparently the big branch our swing has been on (since we moved in) had to go...no one discussed this with Olivia and I! Since the sun has come out, we've been swinging on that swing for at least 30 minutes a day. I'm not sure Olivia understands that it is gone, but I know once it sits in, she's going to be mad! She loved to spin (mommy, press the spinning button) until she was dizzy and out of breath, and I would push her as high as I could (I want to say hi to Aunt Christine on the moon!). I'm actually going to miss that swing!

It's Spring!

Last weekend we had a beautiful Saturday (hmmm, weatherman said cloudy...who pays this guy!), so we all hit the backyard to clean up and enjoy the swings. As you can see, Olivia still loves her blue swing. It's a wonder that branch is still up there! Luke isn't such a big fan, he tries to climb the tree instead. Here are a few pictures of everyone outside!

Luke walking

I've been trying to get video on here forever and it finally worked, so here's some video of Luke walking. He's actually much faster than this, but this is the video that finally got up here...and he very clearly says "Bye Bye" on here.

The Powder Room (or closet really)

It's finally finished!! Two weeks of pulling wallpaper off in bits and pieces (thanks to the previous owners who left on two layers and never sized the wall) and trying to suck up potentially lead paint, left us with really ugly walls. But, Mr. Krout was able to transform our walls into a thing of beauty! The bathroom looks amazing now! I just need some curtains and a few paint touch ups, but it looks great!

Happy Easter

The Krout family spent Easter up here (sans Derrick) in blustery CT. We had a really nice sunny day on Sunday, but it sure was windy! The kids had a great time opening up their baskets and then we headed down to brunch on the shore. We all took turns walking Luke around the restaurant after he finished eating all his food. He doesn't like to sit still! Neither one of them was a big fan of the Easter bunny!

Thanks for coming to stay Grandmom and Pop pop, Uncle Kevin and Jessica...and Cyrus!

Horton Hears a "You"

I took Olivia to her first movie today. Horton Hears a Who. She was really excited, telling everyone at the shoe store she was going to see "Horton Hears a You". We got our popcorn, sat down and waited a few minutes (can I mention here that they charge $7 for a 3 year old to see a movie!!!) before the commercials started, then the 8 previews (which normally I love, but I knew Olivia would start to lose interest before the film started!), finally the movie started. The first 20 minutes were pretty good, Olivia ate her popcorn and drank her juice, but then she wanted to switch seats and then use the potty (so we went out to try it, though I knew she wouldn't sit on a potty that wasn't her own), and finally the last 15 minutes she actually sat and really watched it.
She says she wants to go and see it again, but I think we'll wait until the next animated film comes out!

March Madness

We're waiting for spring up here in CT. We've heard some birds, and the grass is completely visable, but it's still not quite warm out. So, we've repeated a trip to the Imagination Museum. I've also posted a few pictures of Luke's hair since some people (ahem, Christine) don't really believe he has any.

After our trip to the museum with our friends the other day, we thought "hey, let's go out to lunch...with 6 kids and 2 babies"...it actually turned out pretty well. Luckily there weren't many people eating at the place that day! Luke INSISTED on eating with the kids (seriously, we tried to put him at our table, but he protested really hard), which put 6 of them at one table! Good times, good times...
