Day 6

Today we had one scheduled tasting and decided to just wing it for the rest of the day. First stop at 10:00 am (!) was Frazier Vineyards. This was one of the cool ones, and not just because we were underground in a cave. Michael our tour guide took us around the caves which were built in the early 90's by Bill Frazier, a former pilot who just decided to start a vineyard (seems very common out there to just go for it). Bill actually stopped in while we were tasting and we had a talk about Connecticut (everyone has a connection to the Nutmeg State). After purchasing a few bottles here to round out our second case, we headed to Domaine Carneros for some sparkling wine. This was by far the most dissapointing tasting as there were lots of big groups of loud people. We were however out on the patio overlooking the grapes, which was pretty, and the wines were very good. But, the bachelorette party with the girl throwing up definitely sent us packing!

After that we drove around for a bit, but didn't find another vineyard we really wanted to see, so it was off to the Bungalow. We ate dinner at Bistro Jeanty in Yountville that night. Very French menu. Brad had a rabbit shepard's pie...I stuck with the pork chop.

All in all, an awesome trip. A bit of a bumpy landing...too bumpy for me, but we made it back!

We even managed to check two cases of wine, at no extra charge!
